Clent Side or Server Side Tracking?

  • 90% of the time Client Side tracking is used. An EFFECTUS pixel should be placed on the advertiser's conversion page.
  • Server Side tracking is used when Client Side tracking is not available. Additional details can be found in the article: Server Side Tracking

Pixel Type

IMPORTANT: We highly recommend using IFRAME pixels, they fully support all EFFECTUS features.

IMG pixels can also be used in the event of when an advertiser can not place an IFRAME pixel. Note the following when using an IMG pixel:

  • Affiliate 3rd party tracking is not fully supported: 3rd party cookie based tracking is not available.

Secure or Non-secure Pixel?

IMPORTANT: We highly recommend using a secure(HTTPS) pixel for all offers.

Non-secure pixels can also be used, but the advertiser's conversion page should also be non-secured. If the conversion page is secured and a non-secure pixel is placed - it will not be fired.

Pixel Placement Suggestions

In order to have accurate statistics it is important to correctly place a pixel on the conversion page.

  • It is recommended to place the pixel at the top part of the page. Ideally after the tag <HEAD> if it doesn't break the page design.
