Redirection for offers

This option is for redirecting traffic from one offer to another.

This would happen when a visitor clicks on a creative via the Tracking URL. If for some reason the requested offer is not available, Effectus will direct them to the alternate offer.

The reasons why a redirection would happen:

  • Offer is not active.
  • Offer is not deployed by that affiliate.
  • Offer is set to Redirect mode. Seehere for more details.
  • Offer cap has been reached.
  • Offer creative is not active.
  • Offer is set to accept unique IPs only and the IP already exists.
  • Offer is set to accept leads from only certain countries and the visitor country is not from the allowed list (the visitor country is determined by IP).

Redirection settings:

  • By default, the visitor will be redirected to the offer from the same category as the requested offer.
  • The Admin can customize redirection to any offer.

IMPORTANT: Redirection is available for DEPLOYED offers only. If an offer is not deployed by the affiliate a redirection to that offer is not possible. However, the admin can set the "Auto deploy" option. This way, the offer will be auto deployed for the affiliate and a redirection will happen.

Redirection priorities:

  • If a custom redirection is set it will be processed as priority.
  • After a custom redirection rule is processed then rules by default will be used (redirection to an offer from the same category).

Setting up custom redirection

  • Tab "Offers", select an offer, click Edit

    Example:

  • Section "Offer Run Information", click on Redirect Rules

    Example:

  • You can add as many rules as you want. Just select an offer and click submit. The offers will appear at the rules list. Priority: from 1st to last record which means top records always have priority over the others. You can drag and drop options to set the correct order.

If the "Auto deploy" option is checked the offer will be auto deployed for the affiliate during redirection. If an affiliate is rejected to run this offer - auto deployment will not happen.

    Example:

The above example shows Effectus will redirect a visitor in this order: offer #203, if offer #203 is not deployed it will be deployed automatically (only when auto deploy option is enabled). If for some reason offer #203 is not available, affiliate will be redirected to offer #210. If offer #210 is not available, rules by default (offers from the same category) will be used.

  • You can also check the last 50 redirections for any offer if you click on "History" on the offer edit page.

    Example:

The above example shows affiliate #3792 is running offer #200 which is not available anymore. Traffic has been redirected to offer #203. So if the offer is not available the  affiliate will not lose the traffic.
